Performance Nutrition

For any sporting individual aspiring to be a better athlete and compete at their best a good diet cannot be ignored. A poor diet can lead to injury, fatigue, stress, lack of wellness and delayed recovery.

Nutrition plays an important role in improving performance and recovery. Competition nutrition strategies can also be pivotal in sports performance at various stages of a season. When injured, nutrient manipulation is critical to the healing process & inflammatory responses can be curtailed through appropriate dietary advice. Indeed the combination of physiotherapy and selective nutrition can optimise rehabilitation from all injuries. We can offer this complimentary approach to recovery and help athletes resume training quickly and correctly.

Weekly treatments are needed, but sometimes, if the condition is Acute, you may need to visit more often. Usually only 4 or 5 treatments are needed for lasting relief.

What happens in a session?

At the first consultation you will be asked about all your current and past health conditions and if you are taking any medication prescribed by your GP. A whole Health History will be taken.

If you arrive with a physical injury/sports injury or back problem, we will usually assess for range of movement, pain levels, your anatomical structure and any deviations, before planning any course of treatment. Once an overview has been made, we will commence treatment.

Gentle rolling type moves are made by the thumbs, over muscle, tendons and soft tissue. During the treatment there are a series of short breaks, where you will be left to rest, allowing your body to respond to the moves made. The rest period is an important part of the treatment and gives the body time to make the subtle and fine adjustments.
